I'm in the process of putting together a schedule of weekly discussions for our forum, and I'd be very grateful for any suggestions for these topics that VGHVI members might have!
My idea is that these topics would range from all the way from the highly academic (for example, "What is the parole
of videogame langauge?") to the clearly mainstream (for example "What's the most culturally constructive game you've ever played?"). So all sorts of topics are welcome, and above all topics that come from your own discipline but that touch, as almost all issues around gaming do, on others' disciplines as well.
The topic for this last bit of a week and for the week of 14 December will be "How does a videogame make a point?" If you're interested in wading in and/or weighing in, I highly recommend this recent post
by Iroquois Pliskin about Ian Bogost's
idea of procedural rhetoric. I'll post the topic later today.
