A very hearty welcome to those who are coming in on the second wave!
Two things to think about:
1) Mike Young has had the brilliant idea of a series of machinima dialogues (in World of Warcraft and, perhaps, other game worlds) that will both introduce the initiative and demonstrate its potential. Ideas for topics of conversation, as well as offers of assistance in the creation of the machinima, are very welcome! (Mike, do you want to post the script on the wiki, maybe?)
2) It's probably the right time to start to think about applying for a fellowship to bring a project to the center. Ideally, the project would have a clear path towards the creation of an online course like the ones I'm working on right now, but projects that lead rather to new kinds of scholarly conversation are also very welcome. We don't have money yet, but we'll definitely be able to offer less tangible support--above all in the chance to talk on a variety of levels about what you're working on. We may also have money soon! At any rate, the first fellowships would begin in Fall 2009, and the requirements would include only participating in the initiative's ongoing conversation and keeping us all apprised of your work.
I'm eager to answer questions about either of the above items in the comments.
