Event Description

Another Thursday, another VGHVI gaming night! Unfortunately, both Roger and I are going to be out this week, so if somebody else can form the party, that would be highly appreciated. Just so that there's a game name here, I'll randomly suggest Burnout Paradise (since it's been several weeks since we played that), but of course the people who are actually there should decide; my only request is that you not play Left 4 Dead, because I want to play that next week!

@David @ Michael

As for PS3 games, I only own PS3 exclusives for that system... if they're cross-platform I always go 360, because XBLive doesn't intermittently kick me out of online matches every 45 minutes or so.

When Trine comes to the PS3, it will be 10 dollars cheaper than the Steam version but it won't have coop functionality. Only the 360 version is slated to have coop, but it's not being released until much later.

PS3 coop games I own are Killzone 2, PixelJunk Eden, and LittleBigPlanet. If you have any recommendations for other good exclusives (download- or disc-based... like is Resistance 2 any good?) I'd probably be able to purchase 'em!

Worms sounds good.

I'll carry the banner for VGHVI. I would like to do some Burnout Paradise challenges. Alternatively, I think it might be fun to do some old-school XBLA titles. Would anyone be down with something like Worms, TMNT, or Street Fighter? Or, y'know, whatever.

I would certainly be up for playing something PS3-exclusive - Little Big Planet in particular sounds good to me. My sense is that there are enough of us around who have PS3s that we should be able to get a few people together to play PS3-specific games (I think Simon was also interested in doing some PS3 playing); it's less clear to me that there are enough VGHVI participants who actively favor the PS3 over the 360 for us to be able to get games of, say, Burnout Paradise or Rock Band going. I could be wrong about that, though - the only way to find out is to try it, I guess!

Next week is L4D and I'm out the week after that; do you think you'd be available on July 30? If so, I'd be happy to declare the game for July 30 to be Little Big Planet.

I love the VGHVI Xbox Live gaming action on Thursdays, but any chance of playing a multiplatform game like Burnout Paradise on PS3? Little Big Planet would also be a co-op blast, as would Trine when it appears. Any other PS3 folks around here? I do realize I'm in the minority, but maybe an occasional non-XBLA game would be a good thing.
